Privacy for Contractors

Last updated: June 2025.

This page explains how customer personal data is shared with contractors on the marketplace and how you must use it.

When customer data is shared

Customer contact details and documents are shared only after you complete a lead unlock or exclusive claim.

Before unlock, you see only the opportunity summary and non-identifying project information.

How you may use customer data

Customer data must be used solely for responding to the specific enquiry or tender opportunity.

You may contact the customer to discuss their requirements, arrange a visit, or submit a quotation as appropriate.

You must not add customers to marketing lists, sell their data, or use it for unrelated purposes.

Data protection responsibilities

You are responsible for handling personal data lawfully under UK data protection rules, including keeping information secure and only retaining it for as long as needed.

Do not share customer details with third parties except where necessary to respond to the enquiry (for example, a specialist subcontractor on that specific job, with appropriate care).

Misuse and access revocation

Misuse of customer information may result in immediate suspension of marketplace access and may be reported to relevant authorities where required.

We may audit or investigate reported misuse and revoke access without notice where serious breaches are identified.
